It seems as if we are hearing more about teachers conducting themselves disgracefully with students than ever before, as the Conservative Daily Post often shows to be the case. Perhaps the problem has always been this bad and our culture is just more open to talking about it and bringing the guilty to justice. Maybe the internet of things is only making it seem like it is more common and at other times, such abuse was just not reported or spoken of.
Regardless of the reason, the facts are disturbing to many. MSN News reports that a “former third-grade teacher from Las Vegas was arrested Thursday” and faces accusations of “lewd acts with a child.” Thirty-eight-year-old Luis Busso had been a teacher at the Ira J. Earl Elementary School and has been “booked on charges including five counts of lewdness with a child under 14 and one count of attempted lewdness with a child under 14,” Fox 5 News also confirms.
The most discomposing part of this, for some, is the fact that this is the “third person linked to the school” who has been arrested for such actions. He is the “seventh school employee arrested overall,” reports the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Busso was fired from his job on May 25th after an investigation conducted by the district found out what was happening. The exact details and reason for the firing are not yet known. This is something that many feels should be posted openly.
The man is being held without bond, so suffice to say, it was serious.
When we hear that “what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas,” we all chuckle. That is, until it means that our children are being deflowered or otherwise abused. Thankfully, America has not fallen so far that such things are overlooked, at least not yet.
Already, Sin City has every kind of vice imaginable on display, even adult dancers who are robots, as creepy as that sounds.
Most adults in this day and age don’t really mind how strange or unusual a person is in private and/or in the company of other consenting adults. To each their own. It is between them, the other adults, and God.
Prohibition and the so-called “War on Drugs” has been a failure and many cities are opening up to the fact that we can not (and should not) police everything. It is costly, unproductive, and only leads to greater problems as we destroy our one cherished 4th Amendment.
However, even that is not enough as our children remain a target for so many. As Luis Busso found out, there are just some things that will not be tolerated, even in Las Vegas.
